Advisor:Denise Tuttle
Purpose:This organizaion's purpose is to entertain the parents, student body, and Arrow fans with performances at pre-game and half-time shows, and to promote school spirit with the support of the Band and football team. The sweet 16 is involved with all Marching Band Activities.
Affiliation:This organization is affiliated with the Ashland High School Marching Band.
Membership Requirements:The Sweet Sixteen must audition to become dancers on the squad. They have a limited amount of time to learn a dance, technique, kick, and march routine. They are evaluated by a panel of 6-8 judges, and 18 girls are chosen. Sixteen dance for each performance, and they alternate sit-out times.
Officers:Captains are seniors who have served at least one year on the squad, selected by the advisors and voted on by the dancers. There may be one Captain, Co-Captains, Tri-Captains.
Meetings:Practices are held on weekdays after school on the practice field or in the high school lobby for 1 ½ - 2 hours, with performances each Friday night of the football season. Sweeties also participate in Band Camp, which consists of two weeks of 8-hour daily practices, to learn all of the material for the season.
Membership Dues:Dues are $30 per year.
