Course Information

The course is designed for students who want to learn about video production for broadcast or for corporations. Students will take part in producing video programs for broadcast use, including morning announcements via classroom TV and commercial productions for outside industry. Much outside camera work as well as studio work including interviewing will be required.

Communication Through Video Production (VP1)

Full year course

Prerequisite: Speech/Exploring Communication,

Journalism or Dramatics. Written application is required, available from your Guidance counselor or the Video Production teacher.

This course is designed for students who want to learn about video production for broadcast or for corporations. Students will take part in producing video programs for broadcast use including morning announcements via classroom TV (Arrow News) and commercial productions for outside industry. Much outside camera work as well as studio work including interviewing will be required. Because of limited facilities, class is limited to 15 students by application only.

Advanced Video Programming and Production (VP2)

Full year course
1 Credit
Prerequisite: Communication Through Video Production (Video I) and permission of the instructor.

The course will move the student beyound the news format of the introductory class. Students will learn advanced editing skills, commercial and industrial video techniques, and feature production (including music videos, 1/2 hour programs, and a short movie). Emphasis will include productions for cable broadcast, public relations, and in-house video. A resume tape for college or future production employment will be produced.
