Reasons for coming to the Library:
- To use library/reference materials
- To get a book/magazine for leisure reading
- Classroom assignment-*Computer use requires a pass
Admittance to the Library- no pass, no admittance
- Browsing pass-issued to student each semester. Allows two weekly visits.
- Reference pass-issued by classroom teacher for specific assignment. Allows use of print resources.
- Computer pass-issued by classroom teacher for specific assignment. Allows use of computers during the school day.
Rules:
- Respect the rights of others. Be courteous to staff and students.
- Maintain an atmosphere conducive to reading and studying.
- Acceptable conduct is expected. Mrs. Spittler or Mrs. Deppen will let you know if you're not behaving appropriately by giving you one verbal warning. If acceptable conduct is not then displayed, you will be sent back to Study Hall or to the Office and your browsing pass may be revoked for two weeks.
- Work silently and independently. If you need to talk or work with someone, see Mrs. Spittler or Mrs. Deppen.
- Come prepared! Bring needed books and materials with you. No locker passes will be issued.
- Once in the Library, you are expected to stay here for the whole period --you will not be allowed to go to the computer lab, writing lab, Guidance Office, etc. unless you are called for. Restroom passes are issued only in emergency situations.
- No food or candy or drinks in the Library.
- No coats allowed.
- Bookbags should be kept on the floor under the tables.
- Remain in your seat until the bell rings.
- Replacements for lost or destroyed browsing passes will be issued before school, after school, or between classes -not during class or study hall periods.
