Dear Parents and Guardians: Ashland City Schools has taken steps to make your children safer at every school building in the district. We have istalled Access Control Systems at the main entrances and at some secondary entrances to better control and monitor access to the buildings. The system consists of a door buzzer equipped with a camera that will be monitored in the school office. Except during brief high traffic periods like arrival and dismissal times, the doors will be locked. Visitors will have to press the door buzzer and stand in front of the camera to be identified before the doors will be opened. All visitors will be required to sign in at the main office and obtain a visitor's badge. That badgte must be worn in a visible place at all times while in the building. Visitors will return to the main office to sign out prior to leaving the building. Staff and students will be instructed not to open secondary doors but to direct visitors to the monitored entrances to enter the buildings. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience you may experience because of this procedure. However, our primary goal is to make your children safe and secure while attending Ashland City Schools. Vestibule areas have been created at Montgomery Elementary and Ashland Middle School so that visitors can step indoors before reaching the access control point. This will allow you to get out of the elements in case of inclement weather. If you have any questions or comments regarding the security system or procedure, please contact your Building Principal or Derek Cluse, the Business Manager. Mr. Cluse can be reached at 419-289-1117. |
